Will Oostendorp, VP of Sales of EuroAmerica Distributors, the sister distribution company of EuroAmerica Design recently attended the bi-annual EuroCucina in Milan, Italy.
I recently had the opportunity to attend EuroCucina, the largest international home furnishing fair held in Milan every two years. With 24 exhibition halls, the fairgrounds in Milan are a flurry of excitement, showcasing the latest trends in kitchens, baths, home furnishings and lighting.
With four of our vendors displaying at the fair, many of the companies present prototypes of new products they may bring to market based on the feedback they receive during the show. Attending EuroCucina is essential to our distribution and retail businesses, to understand the latest trends and connect with leading designers in the industry.
Here are some show highlights that you will begin to see in the EuroAmerica Design showroom in the coming months:
VAL DESIGN (Italy) - KITCHENS
Product Introductions: We can look forward to the Forty Five model which features a cement finish on the doors and countertop and the new Soho model that incorporates an open shelving system with traditional cabinets
Product favorite: Corner tall cabinet that opens from both sides allowing increased access and storage solutions
Appliance integration: Val Design partnered with the Italian stainless steel fabricator Barazza to feature two different countertops that incorporate gas cook tops and sinks that are fully integrated as one piece
Color: White, grey and taupe colors were very popular along with a lot of walnut veneers or similar colors in wood
Pocket doors: The Europeans are hiding their ovens and other appliances behind pocket doors. It is not permitted in the US to have an appliance such as an oven behind a door, due to fire codes. Having said that, there are many ways to use them in creative ways to create unique solutions for various areas of the kitchen
